| Hello, I have been exploring the idea of making my own solar water heater collector, and system. If you have read any of my other topics, you have seen I am a "Technology Geek", and love automation, and letting technology work for me in my off grid systems ! There are several control systems on the market for solar water heaters, and currently I have been leaning to this system. All the pumps run off my battery bank, and has the ability to use AC power from a generator should that be a last result ! Here is my drawing of how may set it up ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I would like to know if others have a similar system working. Alan | |

| nice set up. I had one similar in Las Vegas Nevada. they called it a aqua-therm split heating and cooling system. I used a grudforce pump to circulate the water thru a set of coils with a blower motor mounted on the back side. it was a gradual heat system that actually worked very well. solar panels were on the roof and the water was passed down into a collector. nice set up you have there, very well done! | |
