Hello,
Thinking about buying an old piece of Hong Kong History... A Hong Kong made Teak Boat made in the 1980's. Think she needs some TLC and brought up to date !

Hello,
Well... This morning was the first day of work on the "Classic Chinese Teak Junk", that will be the newest "Green Energy" vessel on the Hong Kong waters !
Her name is "Le Grand Pied". I am told that means "The Big Foot" in French.
I have a Plan, so here it goes...

you got a lot of work done. it shows, if you started at the beginning watching what the boat first looked like. sounds like a good idea to get the front end completely done then install the solar panels. then you will not get dust all over them and have another mess to clean up.

Hey SD...
By the end of this week the panels better be mounted... I am avoiding any contact with the single and beautiful woman of Hong Kong so I don't get distracted LOL

Hey SD,
I do not think I am going to completely strip the the spindles right now. I have so much work, that a good cleaning and moderate varnish now will allow me to make her respectable. Once I have power and am self sufficient with power (and getting off the main neglect), I can then pace myself to completely strip the spindles at a later time.
I plan to be living on this vessel full time after Sunday, so I still need to get a working shower with hot water too... I am lucky that there is shore water right now, so I can continue to fill the water tanks as needed for my living. This vessel is not plumbed for shore water. I fill the water tanks, and the 24v DC fresh water pump pressurises the system. The fresh water pump is 6 Gallons per minute at 40 PSI.
Talk to you soon !

its looking really good. Your like me, thinking about that extra coat on the top, go ahead, do it right the first time, you will be happy you did. one more day without the solar panels will be worth the wait cause you have piece of mind about how well the surface will hold up under the heat of the summer sun. wood is looking great!

that second coat sure made it look a lot better! good thing you got the fridge installed but you over looked on thing. after doing all that sanding and hard work your back will need a rest,,,, the freezer should of been on the bottom and the fridge on top so you do not have to bend down to get your beer!!! prior planning lol. Also while you were showing the front of the boat and scanned over to the jedi did you notice that woman watching you with binoculars? she is way off the far left and actually ducked down some when you moved her way. Great job on the boat, can not wait for the solar panels to be installed, looking good!
